I LOVE batik fabrics and have been collecting them for awhile now, but have just started recently to actually cut them up and QUILT with them! When I found these coffee cup and coffee bean batik fabrics at my local quilt shop, Taylor's Sewing Centre in Brockville, I just had to buy them! It took me awhile to find more coordinating teal and brown fabrics but when I did, I knew I needed to find a way to use them all together in one project. I designed this cute wall hanging for my kitchen. It features fairly easy piecing and fusible appliqu so it would be suitable for an experienced beginner. I think it would look equally nice in bright prints or a country colour scheme. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic quilting skills such as rotary cutting, piecing and machine quilting. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 321/2" x 381/2" [83 x 99cm]

My mom is very crafty and has encouraged me to make things since I was very little. She taught me to sew in high school, but I didn't start quilting until after I was married. I fell in love with quilting and started my own design business - Fairfield Road Designs - in 2001. Since then I have started to do punchneedle, wool applique and felting as well.
