PATTERN DETAILS

These fun quilts and wallhangings begin with layered circles on top of a square. And, they are all easy enough for a beginner-everything matches and lines up perfectly when you follow Kaye's step-by-step directions. With the View & Do Circle Shape, you can easily fussy-cut the smallest circle in your project. Check out the Shades of the Southwest, which has 4", 6" and 8" fussy-cut pots. The layered circles can be used as is, OR the finished squares can be cut into square quarters (drunkard's path) or diagonally into triangles that can be rearranged to get lots of different designs. The circles can be left with raw edges, finished with a turned-under edge, or faced with a different color for a 3-dimensional look. When you are looking for an easy project, check out the 17 projects in this book. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY How to sew a straight line

Kaye Wood, Inc
Kaye Wood describes herself as a "Quilt Engineer". Her main quilting interest is to simplify the quiltmaking process which results in easier and more accurate techniques so her students can have an easier time making quilts. She breaks a lot of rules with her original techniques and as such has eliminated a lot of the slowdowns in quilt making. How about adding: each of her patterns focuses in on one or more of her original techniques.
