PATTERN DETAILS

What a joy to make. It was for my 2nd great neice. She lives very far away, so checking out the colors of her room was impossible. So I just found fabrics I thought a little girl might like. It turns out, they coordinate perfectly with the colors in her room. The simplicity of the design and large patches make it perfect for highlighting fun fabrics or colors. Use it as a toddler or youth quilt, or even a good sized play mat. It makes a perfect beginner's project or a quick last-minute gift. Just add more rows and columns to make it any size you need! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic rotary cutting and piecing skills

Supplies Needed

  • Fabric requirements are included in the pattern.
  • 1 Twin sized batting

My mother taught me to sew when I was 8 - doll clothes by hand, then she moved me on to her old Singer. But it was Home Ec in Jr. High where I discovered that sewing was my "thing.". Throughout the years, I sewed clothing and made pillows and curtains and stuff. But quilting? Just the thought of cutting a beautiful piece of fabric into little pieces and sewing them together again seemed a little crazy to me. But when my first great-niece was born, I made my first quilt for her and was hooked! As a new quilter, I couldn't find designs that were easy enough, so, I got design software and started tinkering. Now that I am retired, my life is all about my DH and quilting. Thanks to Craftsy, I am able to share my designs and patterns with you. In addition to quilt designing, I stay busy in my guild, and have a quilting business: Quiltniques! My beloved longarm is named Margie and she works hard. You can check us out at www.quiltniques.com. Now, let's go quilt something!
