Arrows are so trendy now and when I decided to add one to a quilt I wanted to experiment with adding detail like the spaces between the fletching's feather strips and a bit of a curve-like detail at the back side of the arrow's point. I must caution you; this paper piece pattern is not for the faint of heart with 36 different small segments but the reward is worth it! This is NOT a beginner pattern. It is for someone who is very comfortable paper piecing already. The block pieces are numbered but this is not a full tutorial, just the pattern. Yielding a 11" x 4 1/2" unfinished block this arrow involves 4 separate paper pieced templates. It's a great pattern to bust out some of your smaller scraps especially prints and colors that will pop on your background fabric. In the 3 page download you'll get two pages of paper piecing templates as well as tips for putting the broken fletching feather arrow paper piece block together.
