I ordered too much fabric for another quilt - Heavenly Host (also available at Craftsy). I knew I would have plenty of fabric for another smaller quilt. So I came up with a coordinating table topper - this one, At the King's Table. For me, this table topper honors the birth of the savior as it decorates my home and serves as the center piece of the Christmas meal with family. It doesn't take long to make - so you can enjoy it right away. I used fabric from Robert Kaufman's Holiday Flourish collection. I hope you decide to make this little quilt, and enjoy it throughout the holiday season. My mother taught me to sew when I was 8 - doll clothes by hand, then she moved me on to her old Singer. But it was Home Ec in Jr. High where I discovered that sewing was my "thing.". Throughout the years, I sewed clothing and made pillows and curtains and stuff. But quilting? Just the thought of cutting a beautiful piece of fabric into little pieces and sewing them together again seemed a little crazy to me. But when my first great-niece was born, I made my first quilt for her and was hooked! As a new quilter, I couldn't find designs that were easy enough, so, I got design software and started tinkering. Now that I am retired, my life is all about my DH and quilting. Thanks to Craftsy, I am able to share my designs and patterns with you. In addition to quilt designing, I stay busy in my guild, and have a quilting business: Quiltniques! My beloved longarm is named Margie and she works hard.
