What does a sloth do all day? This quilt shows you a day in the life of Harold the sloth. In the first panel he is sleeping, the middle panel he wakes up, smiles and waves hello. This is exertion enough, so in the last block, Harold is back asleep. This quilt is so easy, you will have time in a day to make the quilt and take a nap of your own. The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. The appliques are sewn with raw edges . These are designed to fray to the sewn edges and give a cozy, folk feel to the quilt. There are no time consuming satin stitches or messy glue paper. The binding is a shortcut method where the edges are sewn all around and then clipped to fringe. Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. There are numbered steps and photographs to guide you. The pattern pieces are full size designed to be printed from standard computer paper. There are 6 pages of instructions and 4 pages of templates. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY 5 fat quarters for the front of the quilt. A fat quarter measures 18x21 inches (46x53cm). 1 yard fabric for back of quilt 1/2 yard (.46m) fabric for border of quilt 3/4 yard (.69m) flannel fabric for border background and center piece background (I used a light blue colorthis fabric will show at the seams) 1 piece of batting 42x 37 inches (107x94cm) (I like Warm and Natural 100% cotton batting) Small pieces of fabric in these colors for Harold and his branch: dark green, dark brown for Harold's background applique, light color for front body of Harold, light blue for eyeballs. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS approximately 40 x 35 inches (102x89cm)
