What materials did you use? Brass 5/8" filigrees, Lizbeth thread size 20, size 11 Delicas beads.

What are you most proud of? It worked!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This pattern works for the particular filigrees that I had. Since all filigree findings are different, I pass along the challenge to invent your own design around a filigree.

Most patterns can be tatted using either the shuttle or the needle methods, although needle tatting turns out a bit looser and softer. My own patterns have all been designed using shuttle. Tatting with beads is more complicated than tatting without beads, in any case. But when people see the tatting with beads, that's what they want to do. It's important to get the basics down first, before trying it with the beads.

Several methods of tatting with beads are taught in the Shuttle Tatting class here on Craftsy. It begins with the basics but several advanced techniques are covered in the later lessons of the course.
