What are you most proud of? I think my friend will really like it. I was experimenting a bit on this project, and I really like the final result. The bear paw quilting is fun, I think. Don't be afraid of trying to think outside the box. Use bright colors for the bear paw design! It's a super traditional block, but updated with crazy fabric colors and I think that makes you look at it twice and say, I didn't know you could do that with a bear paw! And the zippling on the name went faster than I expected, so I was done quilting that part in a flash. There is nothing like the sense of accomplishment you get when a project turns out just the way you planned it, if not better. I have that sense with this quilt. I really like how the lettering is noticeable, but in a subdued way. I was going for texture with the name, and I feel like I achieved it. I am also proud of the skull and knives, because I was able to FMQ, and stay on the line, so I didn't mess up his tattoo too badly! I had a BLAST making this from beginning to end. I'm almost sad that it's finished because that means I have to stop working on it, but now I am excited about giving it to him and seeing his face. He has a rough outside, but a heart of gold so I wanted to express that with this quilt and I do feel like I captured "him" in it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just have fun with it. I went outside my comfort zone a bit with the color scheme [Blue? Black, Gray, and Cream/Tan? That'll NEVER work!] but in the end, it all came together nicely. So go for it, and do something Cray-zee!
