Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I used the classic chocolate cake recipe (in the materials list) and the Satin Ice fondant. Changed the candy details to Playstation details which are more appropriate for my son. I, of course, ran out of time to make all the details I wanted.

What are you most proud of? It was my first attempt at a sculpted cake and (we thought) it turn out so well. Even my 15 year old son liked it for his bday cake yesterday. He said it was the best one I'd ever made him. I only make cakes for my son and husband.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Definitely use the Satin Ice fondant. It is a much better quality than what I've used in the past. Make sure your PVC pipe is below the top thread of your galvanized pipe, unless the highest point of the flange fits down into the PVC pipe. I had a scary (and time consuming) disassembly moment to shorten my PVC when I was ready to attach the head.

Thanks!!! He was really cute and my son and party guests were impressed. Wish I'd had more time for embellishment, but I find I work VERY slowly.
