What materials did you use? Batiks and an African print. Cotton batting. This used the Quilt As You Go concept. In other words, each block was cut out, sandwiched, and quilted leaving a 1" border all around. Then the borders were folded onto the top and top-stitched down. The only hard part was the top-stitching of the rows together.

What are you most proud of? Planning the layout and design myself. I scanned the fabrics into the computer then using a photo program, made the blocks to scale and arranged them until they looked good. I actually hate this method of making a quilt. It's stiff when done and all the top-stitching is a pain.

Wow! You really got creative. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.

This is a beautiful quilt - I can see the enormous amount of work in the sashing. Quilt-as-you-go does seem a good idea when you start and then when it's done - but in between; I'm not so sure. Well done - it is very neat and the colours/fabrics are striking.

Thanks. It's a bit stiff. Regular quilting is softer.
