love the fabrics! nice job! I'd like to make an extra large one like this to put my nursing cushion in... did you double the base pattern size?

Not exactly. I am happy to send you my exact piece sizes. If I don't get back to you by the weekend, please contact me again! I am so grateful for the compliments--my first on Craftsy. Thank you.

Hi again! Sorry for the delay. Doubling the base size would have been easier thanks! I found the pages on which I sketched out the dimensions I used for both a larger bucket bag and this one I call "huge." I scanned them into my computer. Would you able to visit my blog at ".wordpress.com"? My name there is Sophia Oggi, but in all lower case. There's no "at" in the address, just the 2 dots. If you know how I can attach it to a message in Craftsy, please let me know. Thanks for your interest. This is my favorite thing I've made since I started sewing.

Forgot to tell you what I did. First I changed the proportions so that the exterior pockets ended higher on the exterior of the bag, as you can probably see in the picture. When I found the porportions I wanted, I made a ratio between the sizes of pieces in one bucket bag. Then, I could start with any size piece for, say, the exterior, and apply the ratios between the pieces of my model bag to determine the sizes of the pieces for the different-sized bag. However, you may see that the extra large bag is enormous compared with the original template. So I made the handle larger in proportion, and also quilted it, to make it suitable for carrying a heavier load.
