What are you most proud of? I changed part of the last round from 26 picots and twisting the chain (looked messy to me) to the node stitch. This gave me a cleaner edge, and the effect was very similar to twisting the chain multiple times. I was able to figure out a node stitch "number" (I used 4/4), and adjust the number of required stitches to achieve the effect I wanted, and let the doily lay very nicely.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid to try commercial patterns after taking the class. I learned a lot in the process of making this first doily and got to hone the skills I learned in the class.

Wow, it's gorgeous! The color combination really brings out the design well. Very clever how you made changes to the last round to get the ruffled edge effect.
