What materials did you use? Upholstery grade cow leather was used. about 4oz. One hide, enough for four bags this size.

What are you most proud of? That I finished it, with thick leather, using my hand refurbished industrial walking foot machine. It basically said "what leather"? punching through the very thickest parts.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Seam allowances! Be generous! Be accurate with your cutting, and use a good quality rotary cutter. not a cheapie! I use a gingher 45mm rotary.

Thanks Don. I'm going to work on a red leather with gold leather trim hobo style bag next.

Thanks Mary. Very encouraging. Yes the leather hides I managed to purchase are top quality. Very soft and supple. My wife loves her new bag! ;-)

Fantastic job - looks great! What sort of industrial machine do you have? I am just beginning the search for my own one so would love to know what others are using.
