Share a little about the ingredients and techniques used to create this dish/item. Made an apple pie after watching the first several pie class videos!

What are you most proud of? The crust came together beautifully and is so tender and flaky.

WOW! Just wow! What was the inside like?

That looks delicious!!

Thanks! Then inside was amazing- apples were tender and just sweet enough- used corn starch and flour As thickeners. I love this class!!! I've been handling my pie crust poorly for years! The bench scraping and folding technique is brilliant!!!

What fats did you use I'm the crust? What liquids, and thickeners? That looks fantastic.

10/17/2013 Flag

I used the first crust recipe- 6 oz butter and 2 oz shortening, for liquids I used water and vinegar. Starch was two tbsp cornstarch and a tbsp flour.

That looks fantastic, way to go.What kind of crust?

10/17/2013 Flag

6 oz butter 2 oz shortening. Tried an all butter crust the next day and it turned out great too!

Did the crimping on the all butter crust stay as nice?

10/25/2013 Flag

It did! I used a really dramatic crimp and it held up nicely.
