Snapdragon Lace

Check out my website at snapdragonlace.com where I'm blogging my progress as I work through the Priscilla Tatting Books from the early 1900s. I am updating the patterns using modern notation and finding more modern uses for the projects. My grandmother tatted and as a kid I always wanted to learn how to do it, but was too young to get the hang of it. In college a friend and I spent a summer figuring out the basics from books and I've been addicted ever since! Now days I travel a lot and I take my tatting with me everywhere. It's a great conversation starter. It doesn't matter where I am, when I pull out the shuttles people always ask what I'm doing. We don't even have to speak the same language. I’ve shown tatting to North African men in Italy and Armenian women in Los Angeles. I love sharing tatting with others!
