Flowers - Closeup

Project Description

What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? I like doing closeup/macro flowers to the point of almost not recognizing what they are. Yet they are still beautiful, sensual, flowing and attractive each in their own way. Sometimes I do take them to the abstract, to me these are about the color and shape. I believe there are infinite possibilities with this type of photography and that keeps me coming back to try them over and over.

What you will need

  • I am shooting with a Nikon D7000 with macro lenses 85mm
  • 100mm
  • and since this class reminded me I never use my extension tubes
  • I pulled them out as well. I have a light tray I use sometimes and flashlights to backlight or to brighten the shadows. Mostly I work with light from windows. Slow speeds usually so I am on my tripod. Pretty basic stuff.

Q&A with jane248

Pamela Jennings asked:
Love the lily with the drops of purple water. What lens are you using.?
jane248 answered:
Pam, I was using an 85mm macro lens on the lily. I had the flower in a clear vase and it was sitting on a light tray.
