Recycled Gift Wrap

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That it is unique, for one thing. And that a strange conglomeration of items came together in the end! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just walk around the house with your eyes wide openamazing what turns out to be useful for making a beautiful wrapped package!

What you will need

  • I save all of my worked crossword puzzles
  • and they make interesting wrapping paper. For this box (also recycled)
  • I had to do a fair amount of folding and taping
  • but it worked just fine. The ribbon had been given to us
  • and the dried plants came from our own farm. The little feathers came from our (dear departed) chicken Little Cluck.

Q&A with Sister CG

K Lee 2Strings asked:
My, does that take me back in time! I remember many packages wrapped in newspapers. It was more important to save those extra pennies for other purposes than it was to wrap the gift in pretty paper.
Sister CG answered:
Indeed (and so good to remember those days now!). And with Alton's guidance, newspaper, paper bags, maybe even plastic bags (!) can be beautiful, too!
AnnS87150 asked:
This is a great idea. I'd be tempted to leave a puzzle half done - who could resist finishing it?
Sister CG answered:
Brilliant!!
