Halloween is just around the corner, and we have the perfect paper craft project to get you in the spirit! In this tutorial, you will learn how to turn Hershey’s Kisses® chocolates into miniature witches hats. These DIY Halloween treats come together very quickly and easily, making them perfect for your party decor, or to hand out to all the kids in the neighborhood!
Supplies you’ll need:
- Hershey’s Kisses chocolates
- Halloween themed paper
- Scallop circle punch, roughly 2.5″ in size
- 3″ circle punch, or 3″ circle object for tracing
- Strong adhesive tape and/or glue dots
- Paper trimmer
Punch a 3″ circle from your Halloween themed paper. If you do not have a 3″ circle punch, you can cut a circle from a die cutting machine, or you can simple trace a circle object that is roughly 3″ around.
Use your paper trimmer to cut your circle in half.
Adhere sticky tape to one of your circle halves. Be sure to line the curvy edge and one of the straight edges generously with this extra strong adhesive.
Remove the adhesive backing from a circle half. Line up the curvy edge of the paper with the bottom of your Hershey’s Kiss. Adhere the paper to the bottom of the Hershey’s Kiss by turning it slowly, pressing firmly as you go. You will form a cone shape with the paper, creating the “topper” to your witches hat. (Be sure that your Hershey’s Kiss is fully wrapped in foil and no parts of the chocolate are exposed. If you’d like, you can add some plastic wrap to the kiss for extra protection from adhesive.)
Punch a 2.5″ scallop circle from the same piece of patterned paper. You can also use a regular 2.5″ circle if you do not own a scallop punch.
Place a glue dot or sticky tape adhesive in the center of your scallop die cut. Adhere your Hershey’s Kiss hat topper on top, and you will have a completed witches hat — the perfect DIY Halloween treat!
