Tatted Handkerchief Edging

What are you most proud of? How the colors of the vintage thread matches the colors on the vintage handkerchief and how the design of the edging reflects the leaf design on the handkerchief. What advice would you give someone starting this project? When using vintage thread for a handkerchief edging, it's best to have at least 2 balls of your color choice on hand. Edgings for handkerchiefs are at lot longer than they might appear and take up a surprising amount of thread.

You Can Make This

Carolyn Kotlas made Tatted Handkerchief Edging with:

  • DMC tatting thread in size 80
  • color #99 (I think this color has been discontinued.) Vintage handkerchief
