Two socks at once on five DPN's

What are you most proud of? This is my first attempt to knit two socks at once on five dpns. I had to rip out the heel because I didnt like it the first time, it was too lose. I ran into the occasional crossing problem, which was solved by dropping down, flipping the switched stitch and then hopping back up. (hooray for learning to drop stitches on purpose!) Crossing the streams was also kept minimum by employing a knitting thimble. Part of them were done while watching the entire Lord of the Rings and yet more while DH played the Ghost Busters video game. This may explain a few things. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use two wildly different colours of yarn for each sock the first time you try this, or at least something with a very long and varied variegation. The similarity of the colours on this project caused me to knit the socks together a few times and not notice for a million rows. This is a fixable problem, but if you can avoid it while you are learning the technique you will be a happier human!
