Tshirt Yarn Lace Wrap

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Tshirt Yarn Lace Wrap Link to website or photo http://stefaniejapel.com/shop/patterns/tshirtYarn_LaceWrap.html What are you most proud of? Finding a way to show off T-shirt yarn that makes people go, "Wait, that's t-shirt yarn?" What advice would you give someone starting this project? No matter what size of yarn you have made, this project will look great. The yardage that you??ll need will vary greatly depending on the size of the finished project, the size of needles that you choose, and the diameter of your yarn. Create the size that suits you! This pattern is written using a simple multiple-of-six-plus-one stitch pattern repeat. You can make your wrap with as many or as few repeats of the stitch pattern as you like, and make it as long (or short) as you like! You will keep 3 stitches at each edge in garter stitch to prevent the edge from rolling, and just knit until you either run out of yarn or are happy with the length.

What you will need

  • Yarn: Use any t-shirt yarns??_any diameter
  • any color. This wrap looks best if you use similar colors of yarn
  • or if you can
  • all one color. Needle: I used a set of 14?? US 19 straight needles for my project. Needle size will be determined by your yarn and by your swatches. I recommend that you swatch on several needle sizes and compare the swatches to see which produces the fabric that you like best.

Hi Stephanie, You made this look so easy to do. My hubby has tons of old t shirts, now I can actually use them for something...gonna try a tote bag with all his shirts...thanks
Stefanie Japel answered:
You're welcome! Glad to turn you on to it! It's a great way to recycle...and the oldest shirts make the softest yarn!
