Project Description

What are you most proud of? Finishing a lace shawl and having it look as expected, with a recognizable pattern! I am soooo pleased with the result. This is my first successful lace project and I am proud of that, thanks EXCLUSIVELY to this class! For me, this is a big step forward in getting more technical in my knitting. And very satisfying. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Open your mind, take your time and fully enjoy the process. Buy more yarn than you think you will need. I used 400 yd + 200 (+/-) yds in fingering weight for Skywalker.

What you will need

  • Hand-dyed gold-yellow alpaca (Amazing Graze Alpacas
  • Sterling Ontario Canada) for main body; wool strand with silk strand knit together for orange edging; and merino apple red Gems Louet for border. Had to get creative near the end when I realized that I would run out of yarn (yes
  • I did a swatch) but I am happier with the end result than originally planned! What a FUN project!
