Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of actually doing the swatches first, and blocking them before starting the actual sweater. I have always had trouble reading the gauge, but persevered and the sweater fit perfectly. I stopped when I noticed an error in the cables and reworked them - - - several times!! I also masted the Kitchener Stitch, without having to re-read the instructions or rewind! Yea!!! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take the time to do the swatches, so that you understand the cables. It certainly saves time and frustration in the long run. Also, watch the fixing cables video (the last one), after you have worked through the first 15 rows--just in case!!!!

Q&A with DonnaDeCourcy

Carol Feller asked:
Your cardigan turned out just beautiful, superb work!
DonnaDeCourcy answered:
Thanks, Carol. Your patterns are amazing. Would you recommend Briggs and Little Heritage wool for this pattern? I will knit it again, once I make some baby things for our first grandchild.
Desertbears asked:
Beautiful, you did a great job. i am signed up for the class and have the yarn. I will start after the first of the year. I hope mine will look as good as yours:-)
DonnaDeCourcy answered:
Thanks, I enjoyed the class. I really like Carol's designs, and am hoping that I get her book for Christmas.
warbler01 asked:
Your sweater is beautiful! What a pretty color. Enjoy wearing it.
DonnaDeCourcy answered:
Thank you! But, I won't use that wool again. Although it is soft, it also pills easily, so that is disappointing.
Sock Workshop asked:
Donna, What brand of yarn did you use that pills? After you put so much work in to it that would certainly be disappointing.
DonnaDeCourcy answered:
I used Debbie Bliss' Fez. It feels very soft, but I have to 'shave' it after wearing it each time;((((.
