Holden Shawlette

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Holden Shawlette Link to website or photo www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/holden-shawlette What are you most proud of? Certainly not my blocking skills . . . What advice would you give someone starting this project? USE your lifeline, and keep moving it up! See second photo. Markers are helpful, however, using the written pattern, I only marked the center stitch and the lace repeat sections on either side that added k1s before and after. The picot bind-off is attractive and a nice touch, but be aware it uses a crapton of yarn. I had something like 12 stitches left to bind off and came up about a yard short. :(

You Can Make This

waningestrogen made Holden Shawlette with:

  • Bamboo & Ewe Sock Yarn
  • from Jo-Ann Sensations Fingering / 4 ply Bamboo
  • Wool

Q&A with waningestrogen

difair asked:
:) I'm glad you found a solution to the yarn shortage- your shawl is beautiful! (Is a crapton metric? :) Thanks for sharing your shawl and your story!
waningestrogen answered:
I think the metric version is crappe tonne, but that might be wrong.
