Fair Isle vest

Class-Fair Isle vest stranded and steeked by Mary Jane Mucklestone. I am an experienced knitter and have been for many years. I've always wanted to knit a fair Isle vest, so for fun I purchased the craftsy class, I also bought the kit from craftsy (long ago), that went with the class, except it was out of cascade 220. I like her vest colors, not so much the 220 colors. I change the orange yarn that came in the kit. Bought a lemon yellow, also a darker blue. After using the pink on the bottom row. I thought it to garish. But after knitting the 2nd round of the chart decided to alternate with the pink. Shortening the ribbing and adding length. Since blocking I may need to change that. It's to long I think. I enjoyed the class very much. I could have followed a pattern myself, and done fine. I loved having visual instructions and tips. Sometimes, it's like having company, someone to knit with. My advice would be to buy the Jamison wool for this project. At the time I purchased, they had to kits available, the jamison wool and the 220. Since money has always been an object in my life I chose the cheaper kit. I think that was a mistake. My sweater is not my usual color pallett. So- guess I'll have to knit another one. : )
