DREADLOCKS for under a hat 2

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I love how realistic it is!! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't fret. None of the dreadlocks will be exactly the same so measurements aren't that important. Just remember that the dreads are pure wool, so they will shrink when washed. Only machine wash for felting. Hand wash after that. HAVE FUN!!!!

What you will need

  • Combination of wools
  • all 100% animal wool. Red heart yarn. any one Knitting needle pair size 6
  • 7 or 8. crochet hook size 5 or .5.5

Q&A with KnittyMom

Susan Boyd asked:
Is there a pattern for the Dreads? I've been asked to make a hat for my niece who is going through Chemo and wants a dreadlock hat. Any help or patern info you can give is appreciated. Thank you :-)
KnittyMom answered:
Wow Chemo is rough. My grandfather has been battleing cancer for almost 2 years now.
