What are you most proud of? Having each child thrilled with a doll they designed. Also, providing a toy of natural materials, beautifully tactful, and not plastic or plugged in. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Dont think too hard. Just start playing with the skills you have. I started with two icords as legs knitting down to the feet and just inventing the feet. Then I casted on in double points, adding the legs and made a torso. I dec for the waist and incr for the bodice. more icords for arms, and dec for neck, incr for head, l;eaving an opening for stuffing. I picked up stitched for noses, and embroidered for facial details. I did not use a pattern for the dresses/clothes either. You can make this, just start trying and see what sort of individual appears! The hair was made somewhat like a tassle but I stitched down the center of the bundle as if it were the part in the hair. I sewed it on and trimmed the hair. Just jump in and start sculpting with your knitting skills!
