This hat is named for a yak who lives at Bijou Basin Ranch. Yogan's photograph was the inspiration for the yak pictured in purl bumps on the cap. The yak fiber is soft enough to be worn next to a baby's skin and the natural color means there are no artificial dyes or chemicals used. GAUGE 26 sts = 4" (10cm) in stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Infant, Toddler and Child sizes are included in the pattern with a finished circumference at the brim of 14 (16, 18)."

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 Skein Bijou Basin Ranch 100% Pure Yak Down (1 oz, 120 yards)
  • 1 set of 3.5mm (US4) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain a correct gauge. (Or appropriate circular substitutes if you prefer the magic loop or 2-circ method of knitting in the round).
  • 4 stitch markers
