The scarf is worked in garter-stitch lace, with the blank squares of chart representing knit stitches on both right-side and wrong-side rows. Slip edge stitches as if to purl with yarn in front (sl 1 pwise wyf). When working the main section of the scarf, the different-colored markers will help to indicate whether you are on right-side (RS) or wrong-side (WS) rows. You may also mark the right side of the piece with contrasting scrap yarn or removable marker. Change colors at beginning of RS rows.
