Tembo is the Swahili word for elephant, and the slouchy Tembo hat is a parade of pachyderms! A slight variation of traditional fair isle, the hat is worked in the round with elephants in profile around a central elephant face. Use bright colors to recreate the whimsey of a circus, or go soft and subtle to emphasize your love of these wonderful creatures. I LOVE KNITTING! I hope to someday have a wardrobe comprised mostly of handmade awesomeness. I knit a lot of cardigans and I have a weird obsession with fingering weight yarn. I also dabble in designing my own pieces. I am the luckiest girl in the world, because I get to work from home and play with string all day, and because the men in my life think my knitting is amazing. My other interests include my kiddo, my guy, coffee, crazy music, and puns.
