This pretty, warm-weather shrug begins with a provisional cast on and the lace pattern is worked as a rectangle. The waste yarn is removed from the provisional cast on and some stitches are cast on at the underarms. The trim is then worked in the round for a few inches. For a stretchy and fun edge, the trim is bound off with some picots! No seaming is required to make this piece. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY provisional cast on Basic knit and purl stitches decrease: sl 1, k2tog, psso increase: double yo cable cast on GAUGE 12 sts (4 stitch repeats) and 18 rows (6 row repeats) = 4.5" (11.5 cm) in Lace Pattern with smaller needles, after wet-blocking and stretching to dry; 10 sts = 4" (10 cm) in 3 x 3 Ribbing with larger needles.
