Creating this stair-step shape is accomplished by working from the bottom up, increasing stitches as you go. The lacework looks very complex but is simple enough for someone new to lace knitting. The finished garment lends itself to wearing casually over jeans or to dress up any outfit when you are ready to step out for a night on the town. GAUGE 13 stitches = 4" in pattern stitch, blocked SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS finished measurement: 26" X 63" after blocking SUGGESTED YARN 550 yards of DK weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Blue Heron Rayon/Metallic COLORWAY slate/silver

My love of fiber began at age 6 when my mother and grandmother taught me to knit. By 20 my skills expanded and my curiosity led me to design. I love experimenting with color, texture & technique. Developing an idea, choosing the fibers, writing the pattern & watching it grow stitch by stitch into a completed piece makes my heart sing. You can also find me on Ravelry.
