Pattern Details

Satisfy your brioche cravings with Sizzle Pop :: Two shawl patterns in one, both with an all-over chevron lace detail, knit using the two-color brioche stitch! The triangle shawl is the ideal spring and summer accessory for chilly evenings, while the square shawl is great for doubling up and wrapping around your neck or shoulders on cold winter days. Both patterns can be easily modified for a larger or smaller shawl. Skill level: Intermediate. Basic two color brioche skills are not required, but are recommended. Techniques used: brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases and decreases. The square shawl is knit flat from corner to corner, and the triangle shawl is knit on the bias from tip to edge, both using a large circular needle to accommodate large number of stitches. Both patterns are written and charted, for your convenience! Sizes: (measured after blocking) Triangle :: 53” / 134.6cm wingspan x 27” / 68.5cm depth Square :: 35” / 88.9cm x 35” / 88.9cm square Gauge: 25 sts x 28 rows = 4” / 10cm; measured in two-color brioche chevron lace stitch (taken after blocking). Swatching for these shawls is a great way to play with different colors, to see what will work! If you’re finding that two colors aren’t working as well as you might have hoped, switch which one is the Main Color! Two-color brioche is a fantastic way to use some of those fabulous speckled or variegated yarns in your stash! Yarn: Fingering / Sock weight yarn Triangle :: Main Color (MC): 400yds / 366m Contrast Color (CC): 390yds / 357m Square :: MC: 720yds / 658m CC: 700yds / 640m Shown in: Triangle :: MC: 1 skein Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Monet CC: 1 skein Havirland Pax Sock in Kiss Off Square :: MC: 2 skeins Republic of Wool Twist Fingering in Love Dust CC: 2 skeins Fern Fiber Organic Merino Fingering in Grape Ice Cream Needles: 40” or longer US 4 / 3.5mm circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
