PATTERN DETAILS

Every time I get a baby shower invite, I immediately start having visions of fabulous mini-aran sweaters in shades of green and blue, and fair isle dresses in shades of yellow and pink. Generally these daydreams last several weeks, until I find myself scrambling the night before the shower trying to finish a hat or bib. This cap is the perfect last minute baby shower solution -- an easy pattern knit in chunky yarn! Bigger size hats are the perfect bonus for a soon-to-be sibling or an expectant mama or papa. We've also included a bonus cowl pattern. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit purl knit in the round decrease GAUGE 16 stitches = 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking. I have been knitting for a long time (since I was about 7!) and crocheting even longer -- lots of crafting, generally, as long as I can remember. For the past 15 years or so, my focus has been on knitting. I have been teaching knitting for about 5 years. I am a CYCA Certified Knitting Instructor. I teach a variety of knitting classes at Twisted in Portland, OR, where I get to spend my time with lots of wonderful knitters! I taught at the Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene, OR in 2011 and at Sock Summit 2011 in Portland, OR. I am always interested in trying out new forums to teach classes. I also teach private lessons for individuals or small groups. When I’m not knitting, I am an attorney practicing intellectual property law - that’s trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc., everything except writing patents. I work on both transactional and litigation matters related to intellectual property.
