How it works

  • This pattern was designed by a Craftsy independent design partner!

  • After purchase find your pattern in your pattern library.

"Ryder" is a quick knit scarf that uses just 1 skein of yarn - any yarn! The thickness and type of yarn used determines the look and drape of the scarf. This one page pattern is great for beginner knitters or more experienced knitters who want an easy project. I am making this pattern available for free with the hope that local yarn stores will use it to encourage new knitters to explore beyond the knit stitch. I also hope that experienced knitters will make this their "go to" scarf pattern for quick gifts or even think of this pattern when wondering what to make, with the one skein of yarn that they treated themselves to. GAUGE 4 sts = 1 inch (garter stitch) Gauge and swatching are not crucial for this project, but if desired, knit a swatch in garter stitch (knit every row) to obtain gauge. Anita is an independent knitwear, crochet, jewelry, sewing, craft - designer and teacher. At age 3, Anita realized her passion for crafting, when she started taping together bits of fabric to make doll’s clothes. She has not looked back since! Anita’s designs have been featured multiple times on Craftsy blogs, as well as Kollabora’s ‘Totally Accessorized’ Collection; commissioned kits have sold worldwide and free patterns have been downloaded a few thousand times. Her ‘Swatch Cheat Sheet’ made its debut in the Spring 2016 issue of Knotions, and also got a mention on UK’s Simply Knitting Facebook page. Born and raised in Singapore, Anita grew up in the US and is currently enjoying the bright, bold, colors of India with her amazing husband and their teenager, who feeds every stray dog in sight. When not crafting, Anita can be found doing yoga, reading, befriending stray cats/dogs and thinking up of new ways to rearrange her yarn/fabric/craft stash. Thank you for supporting indie designers!
