Rubus Slouch is a versatile hat pattern designed with a subtle slouch in mind. Additional instructions are given for measuring your head to customise the fit to suit your own preference. Whether that be a beanie, subtle slouch or extra slouch. The hat is worked in the round, bottom up from the brim. Both DK/8ply and Aran yarn weight versions are included in the pattern.. Instructions are provided with a youtube video tutorial link for the optional tubular cast on. For the perfectionists out there you can't go past a tubular cast on for a polished and professional finish. It is well worth the little extra time and effort to complete it. The skill level is rated as Advanced Beginner since the stitch pattern may be fiddly for an absolute beginner to execute but a confident or adventurous beginner should not be discouraged. The gathered stitch used in this pattern is based on an Estonian lace technique, a full photo tutorial is included. **Copyright** The copyright of this pattern remains with the author Sandy Holdaway. Hi there, I'm a mother of 2 school age kids living in Melbourne Australia. I was taught to knit by my mum at an early age. It was traditional for girls to learn from their mothers as she was also taught by her mother, I seem to be in a minority since this tradition sadly hasn't continued to my generation. I'm so grateful that she passed this skill on to me. In more recent years I have been drawn to seamless patterns as they require much less finishing. In particular top down seamless garments really appeal since they allow you to try on as you go and get that perfect fit. I’m passionate about keeping the craft alive and passing it on to future generations as it was passed on to me. I teach knitting classes locally and of course both of my kids can now knit.
