Named after decorative masonry construction from Roman times, Opus Spicatum is a two-color Fair Isle beret knit using just 1 skein each of two colors of Road to China Worsted. An easy to memorize pattern paired with integrated color work decreases at the crown, it is sure to be a luxurious and enjoyable knit. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knitting in the round on both circular and double pointed needles Increasing Decreasing Two color Fair Isle knitting Following a chart and understanding the symbols within GAUGE 19 sts and 23 rows = 4" in Herringbone Pattern on US Size 5.5 mm needles after blocking. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 9.75" dia at widest point, 8.5" from CO to i-cord, 19" brim circ.

  • The Fibre Company Road to China Worsted 65% Alpaca, 15% Silk, 10% Camel + 10% Cashmere. 69 yds/ 50 gms per skein. Sapphine (MC): 1 skein, Blue Tourmaline (CC): 1 skein.
  • 1- 16" 5.5 mm (US 9) circular needle
  • 1 set 5.5 mm ( US 9) double pointed needles
