I love modular knitting. It's a great way to use handpainted yarn, and because you're making lots of small units that build on each other, it really encourages you to keep knitting and not put it down because you can see the progress. ("Just let me finish this square!") I hope you enjoy this fun garter stitch hat as much as I do. You'll start by making a series of triangles, then a series of squares, then knit garter stitch in the round to the desired length. No sewing is required, though you will crochet two short edges together. GAUGE 23 sts/50 rows = 4" in garter st SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Baby, toddler, child, adult small, adult medium, adult large Circumference: 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 inches SUGGESTED YARN 335 yards of Sport weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Happy Fuzzy Yarn Superwash Sport (100% superwash merino wool) COLORWAY Shown in Sea Monster, which has been discontinued.
