PATTERN DETAILS

Inspired by the Italian designer, this easy hat can be done two ways - in a 2 color scheme or as the ultimate stash buster in multiple colors! Knit from the bottom up in the round, the brim is a simple K1P1 rib with the body in plain Stockinette stitch. Instructions are both written and charted. Pattern updated 3/4/12 to reflect that you can now choose between DK weight and Worsted weight versions! DK uses size 2&3 needles while the worsted uses size 8 for a faster knit-up!! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit, purl,carry 2 yarns,cast on, GAUGE DK version: 27st and 32 rows/4" in St. st on size 3 needles Worsted version: 20st and 26 rows/4" St. st on size 8 needles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS small,medium and large sizes to fit heads between 19-24" circumf.

Recommended with this pattern

  • For DK version: (1) size 2 circ & (2) size 3 circs OR (1) size 3 circ and size 3 DPNs. One skein each KnitPicks Shine Sport in French Blue and Bison or any other sport or DK weight yarn that gets gauge. For the Worsted weight version: (2) sets size 8 needles or DPNs and one skein each worsted weight yarn in main color and contrast color.
