My favorite stitch is the garter stitch! Working along with the knit stitch is so relaxing that I'm always disappointed when I'm done! This pattern was inspired because I love the look of lengthwise knitting. Most scarves are made end to end. When you have varigated or beautifully space-dyed yarns, they really need to be showcased. Hiding them inside your shoes does not do them justice! This pattern begins with a band of simple lace. When you have reached the desired length, pick up the stitches for the scarf along the length of the scarf. Using short rows to fill in with garter stitch finishes the scarf! Don"t be afraid of short rows with garter stitch. Merely knitting the slipped stitches will take care of them! Have fun with this pattern, it's interesting!!
