I am a fashion/ textile designer and mother of six children. Over time I have designed and knitted as well as sewn hundreds of items of baby and childrens clothing. I am a designer specializing in innovative and practical children's wear that is timeless and understated. Sewing, knitting and designing for babies and children gives me special joy and freedom to be playful, nostalgic and quirky. I prefer natural yarns and fabrics as these don't just feel and look good, they also perform very well when used for children's garments. My belief is that children's wear should be fun, practical and comfortable as well as easy to care for. I am a highly creative person and there are a lot of artists, designers as well as dressmakers in my family and my great grandfather who was as a sewing machine engineer... Nothing quite compares with making something for your little one yourself. I encourage everyone with the urge to have a go. It's fun and a lot easier than you think! One of my daughters knitted a very simple blanket for her baby brother when she was 10 years old. It is by no means perfect but it has become a very special prized possession that both her and her brother will cherish for years to come. Empower yourself and have a go!
