This hat has lots of cable-y fun! It is warm and it looks really good, plus it is so much fun to knit, and the cables are really intuitive, after the first time through the chart, you may not even need it anymore. The hat is worked flat, as a band that goes around the head. It is joined, then stitches are picked up for the crown. The crown is then worked in the round. The cables travel and intersect around the band of the hat. I am a knitwear designer and teacher with a full time job and a family. I learned to knit, crochet, sew, cross stitch, etc. from my mother as a child. I think I jumped from craft to craft more often than I would like to admit! Knitting has become my main focus. I love to create new designs, and to figure out new ways of doing things. I really want my designs to be easy to wear, AND well fitting and flattering. There is no need to take all the time to make something if it is not going to be worn! Although I love to create a well fitting, good looking cardigan or pullover, I also really like to crank out accessories. There is nothing like the feeling of getting a project, or a new pattern done! I self publish. Those are the designs that you see here on Craftsy. I also design for yarn companies and knitting publications on a regular basis.
