Instant Gratification Hat is a quick, gratifying knit that makes a perfect last-minute gift or a luxurious indulgence for yourself. Available in child and teen/adult sizes, this hat uses one skein of yarn and feels soft and warm against the skin. Bulky yarn and a simple two-row pattern repeat using dropped stitches make this quick knit a great beginner project, an ideal last-minute knit, or a quick stash buster for more experienced knitters. The brim of the child sized hat measures 10 inches/ 20 centimetres stretched slightly and stretches to 19 inches/ 48 centimetres Brim of the teen/adult sized hat measures 16 inches/ centimetres stretched slightly and stretches to 25 inches/ 56 centimetres The samples are made using Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Alpaca Blend 40%wool, 40%acrylic, and 20% alpaca; 115 yards/105 meters per skein; Coral Pink; 1.5 skeins - this yarn has since been discontinued but can be substituted with another bulky wool or wool blend such as Lion Brand Homespun or King Cole Merino Blend Chunky NOTIONS Tapestry needle Stitch marker - 5 or 8 depending on size of hat SKILLS Knit Purl Decreasing BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit, purl, decreases GAUGE 2.5 stitches and 4 rows = 1 inch/ 2.5 centimetres in pattern stitch 4 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in 2x2 ribbing SUGGESTED YARN 115 yards of Bulky weight
