A simple but striking Honeycomb cable runs along the front and back of these socks, adding detail without bulk and is complemented by an Eye of Partridge heel flap. The pattern is easy to memorise and mildly addictive, making them a rapid and fun knit. If you can cable without a cable needle this will add to the speed. If you've never tried this before, this would be an ideal project to begin with as the cables run across just two stitches and are more manageable without a cable needle than larger, bulkier cables. This pattern is offered in two sizes: M (8" circumference) and L (9" circumference) and also as either a cuff-down version or a toe-up version. Please ensure you select the version you require. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit socks from the cuff down cable SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Medium (8" circumference) or Large (9") SUGGESTED YARN 400 yards of Fingering weight

Recommended with this pattern

  • 100g sock weight (fingering weight) yarn,
  • cable needle (if required)
  • 2.5mm long circular for magic loop or preferred method of small circumference knitting

My username is LouiseTilbrook and my website is My passion for knitting socks has finally spilled over into sock pattern design. My aim is to create simple but classic socks in semi-solid and solid colours - suitable for men and women alike. All too often I have struggled to find sock patterns suitable for the men in my life which don’t involve miles of stockinette so I decided to create a range of straightforward and elegant patterns, easily adaptable for men and women. I love to support British Indie dyers and have a particular fondness for semi-solids and subtle colourways.
