You're busy. You love quick knits. You need something warm in a flash or something to gift to someone in a pinch. This pattern is for you! "Honey Of A Hat" can be completed in 4 to 8 hours, depending on your knitting speed. Cozy and warm, the honeycomb pattern makes for a soft, delicious knit without being boring. It would look beautiful in a bulky thick-thin handspun yarn. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knit in the round. Purl P2tog - purl 2 stitches together for decreasing K2tog - knit 2 stitches together for decreasing C4F- (4 stitch left cable) slip 2 stitches onto cable needle and hold to the FRONT of the work, purl 2, then knit the 2 stitches from the cable needle. C4B- (4 stitch right cable) slip 2 stitches to the cable needle and hold at the BACK of the work, knit 2, then purl the 2 stitches from the cable needle. SSK - slip, slip, knit for decreasing sl- insert the right needle as if to purl, and move the stitch from the left needle to the right without working it. GAUGE This yarn is considered a "Super Bulky." 5-6 wpi (wraps per inch) 12.0 sts = 4 inches on size 11US (8.00mm) in stockinette. I've also used worsted weight yarn held double (2 strands from 2 balls) to knit this hat. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Size small / medium = 21" to 22" Size large / Xlarge = 22.5" to 23" SUGGESTED YARN 110 yards of Bulky weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Berroco Peruvia Quick COLORWAY Purpura 9140

Supplies Needed

  • 10US (6mm) 16 inch circular needles or double pointed needles.
  • 11US (8mm) 16 inch circular needles or double pointed needles.
  • A set of size 10US (6mm) straight needles for doing the longtail cast on. These are optional; you can do the caston on the circular needles.
