This pattern is a great introduction to helical knitting, a method of knitting in the round that does not show where the beginning of the round is (except for the cast-on and -off rows, but you can hide those by carefully weaving in the ends). You need only 5 yards of each yarn (that's 12 grams each), so this is a great stash-buster. You can use up the ends from another project. These can also be made to literally any size you like, with whatever yarn, colors, and needles you want. The directions given will give you a pair that looks like the picture. They are quick and easy to knit, taking only a couple hours to finish. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Helical Knitting (includes directions) Knitting in the round GAUGE Gauge varies depending on desired size and yarn and needles used. I have been knitting since I was in middle school. I love designing my own patterns and customizing other patterns to fit my needs. I specialize in quick, simple patterns that can be made in a weekend. My favorite thing to knit is socks. I donate the prototypes for my hat and mitten patterns to my local food shelf and encourage others to knit for charity too.
