This hat was designed to be a quick project perfect for gifts or charity knitting. The simple textured stitch pattern makes it as comforting to work as it is for the recipient to wear. The original hats were donated to the Afghans for Afghans project ( and it warms me from the inside out to think of them around the world, providing a little comfort to those who can really use it. Hi! My name is Alicia. I'm a knitting ecologist with a weakness for socks, shawls, and shiny pretty yarn. My designs reflect what I like to knit: simple, easy-to-work patterns appropriate for knitters-on-the-go that result in elegant, wearable garments. Other than knitting I love poetry, books, music, and science. I'm engaged to a wonderful guy (a.k.a. the Fiasco) and we have a very sweet cat, Calypso, and new kitten, Darwin.
