This lovely cardigan is worked in one piece to the armholes, then the sleeves are picked up and worked down, using optional short-row shaping to shape the sleeve caps. The Garter stitch panel at the bottom of the body is shaped gently to keep the sweater from clinging, and the 3/4-length sleeves (or alternative long sleeves) are belled slightly. The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knitting, purling, yarnovers, picking up stitches, increasing, decreasing GAUGE 19 sts and 34 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Garter stitch, using larger needles 22 sts and 25 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Rib Pattern, using larger needles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS XXS (27.25") to 6X (67.25")

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
