PATTERN DETAILS

2014 Pattern Update: The revamped pattern includes modeled pictures (yes, it only took 3 years to convince my dad to model the scarf he wears every fall and winter) as well as a new Fibonacci inspired color sequence. "Fibonacci Mirrored" is the original striping sequence. "Fibonacci Edge" is the new striping sequence. The tech edited pattern includes written directions and color changing charts. Materials Fibonacci Mirrored (Fibonacci Edge): 3 (4) Balls - Mirasol Samp'a 100% Naturally Dyed Organic Cotton Walnut - MC DK 120 yards/ 110 meters; 50 grams/ 1.76 ounces 2 (1) Balls - Mirasol Samp'a 100% Naturally Dyed Organic Cotton Natural - CA 2 (2) Balls - Marks & Kattens Skal International certified 100% Eco-Cotton Cream - CB DK 131 yards/ 120 meters; 50 grams/ 1.76 ounces Note: M&K's yarn is discontinued substitute any DK weight yarn with gauge of 5.25-5.5 sts/ inch and 8-8.5 rows/ inch. The inspiration behind this scarf came from my love of math and the Fibonacci sequence. To make it more interesting, I ran the sequence horizontally as well as vertically. While at my last knitting social, I heard about the linen method and was eager to try it. However, having only heard the directions briefly, my adaption does not slip stitches for the weave look as that would interfere with the Fibonacci sequence. However, my goal was achieved in the use of the adapted linen method, that is, it created a self-fringing garment. Copyright assigned to Knit Eco Chic 2014.
