PATTERN DETAILS

These lacy mitts are both fashionable and functional. Your hands will be warm and cozy but you will have good mobility for driving and texting, but not at the same time of course. The mitts are knit in the round using double pointed needles and the pattern is written for two sizes. The mitts start with a provisional cast on (instructions included) and progress into a double faced knitted fabric which not only keeps its shape but also is an additional warmth feature. Row by row instructions are given for the thumb gusset and the lace design is easy to follow using either the written or the lace chart form. The palms of these mitts are knit in stocking stitch. The top, thumb and cuff edges are all finished with an applied I Cord cast off (instructions included) which gives an attractive finished edge. These mitts match my "Fancy Free" Cowl design. I have loved making things that involve using my hands ever since I was a very small child. Things have evolved since then. Sewing, quilting, smocking, embroidery, spinning and of course knitting and machine knitting. I have been designing my own knitting patterns for many years now, but more seriously during the last 5 years. Since 2008, my husband and I have been living aboard our sailings vessel "ONEDAY". We left Bayfield ON in August 2008 and up to this time, we have spent our time cruising the Eastern Seaboard and the Bahamas. For a couple of months each year, we return to our home in Ontario where I love to teach knitting classes which I create around my own designs. I have paterns for sale on Craftsy, Knit Picks, Etsy and on Ravelry also. You can find me under my name, Linda Sellick or "ONEDAYDESIGNS".
